Administrator

Job Introduction

Shape the story behind exceptional school dining as an Administrator

We’re recruiting an experienced Administrator to join our team at Lodestone House, based at a prestigious independent school — one of the finest in the country. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented, organised, and proactive individual to play a vital behind-the-scenes role in a world-class catering operation.

You’ll be working part time, contracted to 25 hours per week at £14.00 per hour, on a term-time only basis — equating to 40.6 weeks per year including holiday allowance. You’ll be given every opportunity to progress within a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards and recognises employees who go beyond the plate.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Accurately entering data from manual count sheets into our systems, ensuring all information is complete and correct
• Identifying and flagging any discrepancies or concerns arising from data entry or operational reporting
• Writing up and distributing meeting minutes in a clear and timely manner
• Updating menus and preparing fresh materials to share with our client as required
• Supporting the onboarding of new and agency staff, ensuring all paperwork and processes are completed correctly
• Helping to organise and coordinate agency staff arrangements
• Completing general administrative tasks to support all departments across the operation
• Occasionally supporting front-of-house counter service during busy periods
• Communicating professionally with a range of stakeholders, including our own team, the school client, and the senior management team

Our ideal Administrator will:
• Have proven experience using Microsoft Excel and be comfortable working with data
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling figures and producing documents
• Be a confident communicator, able to adapt their style across different audiences including school staff, clients, and senior leaders
• Be highly organised and able to manage their own workload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
• Be reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining high standards at all times
• Be a proactive team player who is happy to roll their sleeves up and support wherever needed

As part of Compass you’ll help to feed people, fuel progress and forge connections in around 6,000 venues. Join us to grow your career with the industry leader, and enjoy a meal on us during your shift, fantastic on-site perks, access to our award-winning apprenticeship programmes, and unrivalled opportunities for learning and development — all within one of the UK’s most celebrated educational settings.
