Job Introduction

Based in the ExCel at Royal Victoria Dock your duties will include, but are not restricted to the following:

  • Stock prices to be updated on POS 
  • To ensure stock is recorded accurately when transferred between areas.
  • Promptly respond to all customer (i.e. suppliers, managers, clients and colleagues) queries in a timely and proactive manner. 
  • Establish strong working relationships with ExCel team and event organisers 
  • Ensuring that accurate records are made and details filed in accordance with company and unit procedure
  • Maintain ‘Retail’ file on shared drive with relevant retail documents for all team to reference 
  • Maintain an efficient filing and follow up system 
  • Be aware of and adhere to legal and company regulations and auditing, relating to the following areas: 
    • Health & Safety at Work 
    • Food Hygiene 
    • Fire Regulations 
    • Licensing Law 
    • COSHH 
    • Sales of Goods / Trading Standards

WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?

An apprenticeship is a funded programme where an individual learns new skills, knowledge and behaviours in a chosen sector. An apprenticeship will enable you to work and earn a wage whilst developing and gaining new skills as an employee.

Alongside your day to day duties, you will complete the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship. This is a nationally recognised qualification and the primary objective is for you to learn and understand how to carry out administrative tasks to support the various needs of the business. You will be supported through this qualification by your Personal Development Coach who will visit you at your place work every 6-10 weeks. You are not expected to complete any of your Apprenticeship work outside of your normal working hours and will be given set time each week to complete your work.

What we'll give:

APPRENTICE BUSINESS ADMIN

SALARY:  £23,200 per annum

LOCATION: Compass Group UK & Ireland, ExCel London Hospitality, One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, London. E16 1XL

HOURS/WORKING PATTERN: 40 hours per week 5 days out of 7

DURATION: Minimum 18 months

Well now is the time, as we have a very exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Business Administrator to join our team at ExCel London Hospitality.

You do not need to have any experience as full training will be provided as part of the Apprenticeship. This is ideal for a school leaver or someone wanting a career change.

Over an 18 month period you will be trained to become a fully Qualified Business Administrator.

Your Apprenticeship is fully funded by Compass UK and Ireland, via the Apprenticeship Levy.

As a company, our Apprenticeship programme is subject to regulation from Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). For that reason, each candidate must meet certain criteria’s in order to be eligible for funding.  This ensures our offer is compliant with all the quality and funding rules. Therefore, you will be required to complete the following:

Screening Call – you will receive a screening call to establish if you will be eligible for us to claim funding for your apprenticeship training with our training provider and the rules for this are set out in the ESFA funding rules 2022/2023.

European Social Fund – The Skills Funding Agency operates as a co-financing organisation for ESF and assures EU funding is correctly spent. The European Social Fund (ESF) is a structural fund from the European Union. It improves the skills of the workforce and helps people who have difficulties finding work. All our apprenticeships are compliant with ESF funding.
