Rocket Food is seeking an ambitious and dynamic Assistant Finance Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in business partnering, particularly with the Aston Martin Formula One team and Made by Rocket business units. This high-profile position will deliver financial and commercial support, driving improvements in service levels, cost-effectiveness, and value across business operations.
Rocket Food has undergone a transformation in the last 12 months, successfully integrating into the wider group. We're looking for an individual who is keen to engage beyond the numbers and drive impactful changes throughout the business.
As Assistant Finance Manager you will:
- Business partner with key stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, to ensure strong commercial decision-making.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings, providing proactive financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Identify, understand, and manage financial risks and opportunities arising from ongoing operations and balance sheet maintenance.
- Deliver key business reports such as month-end reports, budgets, and cash analyses, and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Train operational teams on financial reporting to improve their performance.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reviews and highlight key risks and opportunities.
- Promote working capital improvements and manage debt ledgers.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and preparing presentations.
- Assist with client tenders, negotiations, and capital expenditure appraisals.
The successful Assistant Finance Manager will :
- Be a Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
- Have Industry experience in a service business.
- Be experienced in management accounting, including producing reports and analysis for commercial decision-making.
- Posses strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Have experience in business partnering with non-finance professionals.
Desirable attributes of the Assistant Finance Manager include:
- Experience in training and mentoring junior team members
- Experience in a CPU-led business.
- Proficiency in Excel Macros and VBA.
- Familiarity with SAP and Cognos for analysis and reporting.
