Role Overview
As Bars Manager at Aston Villa Football Club, you will play a vital leadership role in delivering an exceptional matchday and event experience. Responsible for overseeing all bar operations across Villa Park, you will manage a large team, ensure operational excellence, drive sales, and maintain the highest standards of service, hygiene, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and delivery of bar operations on matchdays, corporate events, and private functions
Recruit, train, and manage a team of bar supervisors and front-line staff
Ensure all bars operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations
Manage stock control, ordering, deliveries, and minimise waste through effective processes
Deliver exceptional customer service standards across all bar areas
Drive revenue growth through effective upselling, promotions, and innovation
Produce rotas and staffing plans in line with business requirements and labour budgets
Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and presentation of all bar areas and equipment
Monitor performance metrics and customer feedback, using data to inform improvement plans
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a bar or hospitality management role, ideally in a stadium, arena, or large event venue
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a large, diverse team
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
Sound knowledge of bar operations, stock control, licensing laws, and health & safety procedures
Results-oriented, with a focus on delivering great guest experiences and driving commercial success
Flexible and committed – able to work evenings, weekends, and all matchdays
