We are looking for a talented and experienced Operations Manager to manage our central production team.

The operations manager for Restaurant Associates will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CPU network ensuring the operation is compliant, financially accountable, efficient and operated in-line with the Compass approach to people. In the first instance the role will also be directly responsible for the London CPU. The operations director will also manage the relationships across the business, key to the success of the operation and be the custodian of the product development process.

More about the role:

  • Ensure the CPU’s operate an efficient production plan taking into account the demand and that resources are planned correctly to meet that demand
  • Maintain an accurate purchasing process, ensuring the right products are purchased for the production and that all wastage is reported and minimal
  • Maintain accurate data in the CPU / RA / Compass systems so that accurate production plans, reports and other relevant information is available
  • Ensure that the CPU’s operate correctly to the agreed processes utilising technology where agreed
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety and health and safety are maintained at all times and that all relevant training is up to date in all sites and that a regular audit process is in place.
  • Champion continuous improvement activities to improve the operation and create a culture where there is a focus on improving the operation.
  • Ensure the CPU’s is maintained correctly – the fabric of the building and all light and heavy equipment
  • Ensuring that the appropriate security regime is in place and that all relevant training is up to date
  • Work with the business and the culinary team to identify new production processes that support product development and provide new opportunities to the wider RA business
  • Be the owner of ‘See, Care, Share’ in the CPU network and ensure regular safety walks are conducted
  • Own the kitchen S&OP process ensuring that production is planned efficiently across all sites, and that stocks of products in third-party locations are maintained at agreed levels in line with demand.

Who you are:

As the Operations Manager you will ideally have a successful background in running high volume CPU operations, you see and treat your current location as your own business, using your entrepreneurial skills to create a thriving and successful working environment.

We work in total partnership with our clients and you will be the key person to ensuring that the aspirations and visions of the operation are realised. You will be driven to ensure we deliver 5 star service to all of our clients across all our sectors.

You possess excellent management and communication skills, have a good understanding of report writing and financial management, and be able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving. You will have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service and be financially and commercially astute.
