Job Introduction

Overall Purpose of the Role

  • Knowledge of COSHH
  • Duties will include: preparing, cooking and serving breakfast items, salad and vegetable preparation, preparing sandwiches/salads, barista duties, operating till and occasional cover in the pot wash area to cover holidays.
  • To perform a variety of tasks associated with food production, front and back of house services and any general support required with due regard to all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
  • To perform general duties which support the efficient running of a contract or unit in line with contractual requirements.
  • To ensure safe working practices at all times. To undertake all aspects in cleaning equipment to the Company’s standard according to the cleaning Rota or as directed. To undertake general duties as and when required.

  • To ensure that any health & safety hazards, issues, near misses & accidents are reported to your Line Manager at the earliest opportunity.
  • To maintain a clean, safe & hygienic working environment at all times
  • To provide the highest level of customer service by learning and demonstrating the ESS Way values and behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers & clients.
  • To be polite, professional, and friendly at all times with customers, clients and colleagues.
  • To actively participate in any team meetings & training as required by sharing your knowledge & experience with other team members.
  • To ensure all equipment provided is used, maintained & stored correctly and any defects are reported to your Line Manager
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager
  • To ensure portion control, preparation, and storage methods to avoid wastage is carried out in compliance with the unit policy.
  • Maintain good housekeeping safety and hygiene practices.
  • To assist in completion of relevant due diligence paperwork, stock sheets, cleaning records etc.

Assist in completion of accurate weekly stock takes

Who you are:

  • Excellent people skills and be a team player.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment for at least 2 years
  • Must hold a current Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
  • High standards and be quality driven.
  • Organisational skills with a 'Can do' attitude.
  • Health & Safety – Follows the right procedures & challenges unsafe behaviour.
