Job Introduction
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef Manager to join our team onsite at RAF Boscombe Down with ESS! As a Chef Manager you are responsible for the day to day running of the mess.
The mess at RAF Boscombe Down consists of a Bar, Cafe, Shop and Restaurant, it also homes a number of functions throughout each month too. The sight is slightly different to others that we look after, with around 200 servicemen onsite and lots of civilian workers. This is a great opportunity for a Chef Manager to enter the Defence industry and broaden your Chef Manager skills!
More about the role:
As a Chef Manager, you are responsible for:
- Managing the kitchen area, bar (open a couple of times per week), front of house serving area, cafe and shop
- Delegate responsibilities of c15 people on a daily basis, ensuring they are meeting requirements of tasks
- Controlling costs of the Mess, ensuring budgets are being met
Who you are:
The ideal Chef Manager will have the following:
- Come from a chef/hospitality background
- Experience with managing a large team
- Proven understanding of working with and adhering to budgets
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to resolve team issues
