Location: Westbury, BA13 4WD
Rate of pay: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum, plus overtime at 1.25x
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Mon – Fri, 07:00 – 15:30 (occasional Saturdays for cover)


About This role; 

This is a hands-on, operational role in a small canteen-style kitchen, perfect for an experienced all-round chef with a background in contract catering, workplace catering, cafés, or canteens. You’ll manage a compact team of 3, delivering breakfast and lunch services efficiently while maintaining high standards and ensuring every customer receives great food on time.

We’re looking for someone practical, organised, and resilient, who can work hands-on in a fast-paced, tight environment and consistently deliver hearty, high-volume dishes. Parking is available on-site, and driving is essential unless you are very local. You’ll play a key role in providing high-quality food that supports a productive and happy workforce.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of 3 to provide busy breakfast and lunch service

  • Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety, food quality, and commercial targets are met

  • Deliver consistently high standards for food quality, presentation, and service for approximately 100 covers per day

  • Plan and develop menus in line with seasonal availability, customer preferences, and budgetary guidelines

  • Manage staff rotas and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance with labour regulations

  • Conduct regular stock takes, maintain stock levels, place timely orders, minimise waste, and use resources cost-effectively

  • Facilitate effective communication within the team through regular meetings and updates to align on daily operations, service expectations, and kitchen priorities
