Cleaning Operative - The Role
- Clean and maintain public areas including concourses, seating areas, stairways, entrances, corridors, and staff areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
- Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, sanitary fittings, and replenishing supplies
- Empty and dispose of waste in line with venue waste procedures
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, handrails, windowsills, and fixtures
- Clean windows and glass panels where required
- Operate cleaning equipment safely (vacuums, floor machines, etc.)
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or hazards promptly
- Support deep cleaning before and after matches, concerts, and major events
- Follow all health & safety and COSHH procedures
- Maintain high cleaning standards during busy event days
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and event days
- Support the venue’s sustainability and recycling initiatives
What we're looking for
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience desirable
- Ability to use cleaning tools and machinery
- High attention to detail and pride in work
- Good understanding of hygiene and safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Physically able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
- Good communication skills
- Flexible with working hours
