We’re looking for a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Whipsnade Zoo
As a Commis Chef, you’ll support the kitchen team in delivering freshly prepared food to the thousands of guests who visit Whipsnade Zoo each year. Working with experienced chefs, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a busy hospitality environment.

What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with food preparation across a range of menu items
- Supporting chefs during busy service periods
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
- Learning kitchen systems, recipes, and service procedures
- Helping with deliveries, stock rotation, and basic kitchen organisation
What we’re looking for
- A passion for food and willingness to learn
- Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential
- A positive attitude and strong team ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak visitor periods
