Job Introduction
We're recruiting an experienced Deputy General Manager who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service, and who can confidently oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for Compass Group Ireland on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daytime.
As a Deputy General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our kitchens and service counters run smoothly and helping to deliver truly incredible food experiences. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and inspiring your team through coaching, training, and feedback to deliver outstanding food and service
Building strong relationships with the Client Food Manager and acting as a positive brand ambassador for Compass
Managing daily operations efficiently, including financial reporting, forecasting, and budget control
Championing a culture of hospitality, quality, and innovation across all offerings and touchpoints
Driving project delivery, service improvements, and new initiatives that enhance the customer experience
Overseeing recruitment, succession planning, and employee engagement to build a motivated, high-performing team
Ensuring compliance with all Compass policies, food safety standards, and health & safety regulations
Communicating clearly and consistently across teams to meet targets and exceed client expectations
Our ideal Deputy General Manager will:
Be passionate about food, service, and team development
Have experience managing teams in a hospitality or food-focused environment
Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Have strong commercial awareness with a focus on results and innovation
Be confident working with stakeholders at all levels and driving high standards across the board
Be familiar with Microsoft Office tools and industry-relevant practices
Hold or be willing to work towards relevant food hygiene and safety certifications
