Job Title: Duty Manager
Location: Hatfield House
Salary: £15,138 per annum + paid overtime
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days)

As a Duty Manager at Hatfield House, you will take a hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of the retail and hospitality outlets within this historic venue. Working as part of the Restaurant Associates team, you will help ensure that service standards, health and safety compliance, and operational procedures are consistently maintained to deliver an exceptional visitor experience.

This part-time role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will supervise front-of-house teams, oversee service delivery, and ensure smooth and efficient operations during your shift.

Key responsibilities include monitoring staffing levels, supporting team training and development, maintaining stock control, and ensuring adherence to company and venue standards. You will assist with day-to-day decision-making, uphold the presentation and performance expectations of both Hatfield House and Restaurant Associates, and act as a key point of contact for guests and staff while on duty.

This position is well-suited to someone looking to develop their leadership and management skills within a prestigious venue. You will work closely with the management team to achieve operational targets, drive service excellence, and contribute to the ongoing success of hospitality services at Hatfield House.


Shifts

This is a permanent, part-time role contracted for 20 hours per week, but the position is likely to average 30–40 hours per week, including paid overtime. Weekend work and availability during school holidays are required, along with the occasional evening shift. Shifts will vary between Monday and Sunday.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Take a hands-on role in daily operations of retail and hospitality outlets.
  • Lead and supervise front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional service.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards at all times.

  • Maintain stock control, assist with ordering, and monitor inventory.

  • Support team training, coaching, and ongoing development.

  • Oversee service delivery, resolving operational issues promptly and efficiently.

  • Act as a key point of contact for guests and staff during your shift.

  • Uphold the presentation, operational, and brand standards of Hatfield House and Restaurant Associates.

  • Assist with day-to-day decision-making and operational reporting.

  • Work flexibly to meet operational needs, including weekends, school holidays, and occasional evenings.
