Events Operations Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking for passionate and dedicated Event Operations Manager to take a lead of our Hospitality team at an exceptional Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. This is an exciting opportunity and would suit someone who enjoys customer service, working in fast paced environment, all at this unique venue where we host a variety of events from Corporate dinners, concerts and banquets to Christmas parties! 

Overall purpose of the role:

To take full responsibility and accountability for the planning and execution of client events. To liaise with relevant departments and manage a motivated, trained team with the appropriate skills to ensure budget targets are achieved. To be customer focused and financially astute to achieve company and client objectives.

Key responsibilities:
Client Sales and Marketing -
  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms
  • Ensure that all costing and plans for events meet budgetary and client requirements.
  • Support Sales team with Marketing strategy for unit
  • Liaise with the client to ensure the continue a development of the partnership
  • Communicate any on site client changes to al management stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with client (as agreed)
  • Action plans are completed following client satisfaction surveys
  • Always promote the unit and act as a Compass advocate
  • Ensure all client events are delivered to the correct standard and look to up sell to increase revenue
  • Demonstrates knowledge of events management with a focus on innovation, standards and market awareness.

  • Responsibilities towards our client requirements.
Consumer Sales and Marketing - 
  • Take responsibility for the logistical planning and costing of event, including suppliers, staff and 3rd party contractors
  • Liaise and actively communicate with key stakeholders to identify requirements and ensure project plan is on target
  • Escalate issues to Line Manager and identify solutions 
  • Identify any additional opportunities and discuss with line manager 
  • Action plans are completed following consumers satisfaction surveys 
  • Ensure all customer requirements are delivered in line with the expectation and look to up sell to increase revenue 
  • Ensure employees consistently demonstrate customer care, selling techniques, merchandising skills and knowledge of current promotions and menus.
  • Ensure that labour planning and targets are agreed and met for all events.
