Job Title: Foodservice Dietitian
Location: Mobile, working from Home and Various Sites as required, location based can be flexible
Salary: Competitive
Hours: FT, 40 H/P/W
Overall Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Foodservice Dietitian to join our Healthcare Team at Compass Group, covering maternity leave for one year with the potential for contract extension. As part of a dynamic Dietetic team, you will collaborate with three other dietitians to support various dietetic, nutrition, and health & wellbeing initiatives in healthcare settings. This role requires national travel and may involve providing dietetic support to specific sites on a periodic basis. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering new menus, supporting business development, and leading health and wellbeing programs within our restaurants.

Menu and Recipe Development
  • Collaborate with operational leads to review and develop menus and recipes within budgetary constraints, ensuring suitability for diverse client groups.
  • Develop and master recipes using recipe database software, propose necessary changes to meet nutritional requirements, and generate nutritional data reports.
  • Evaluate new products and make recommendations based on nutritional qualities.
  • Work closely with business development leads to design and create menus for tenders and retention.
Delivering Nutritional Standards and Guidance
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement reviews of relevant nutritional, government, and food standards legislation to ensure compliance (e.g., CQUIN, GBS, allergen legislation, calorie labelling).
  • Provide nutritional analysis, coding of menus and recipes, and other nutritional information such as allergen and dietary suitability.
  • Audit meal services for Compass teams and clients, gather feedback, and produce reports recommending necessary changes.
Management/Operational Support
  • Lead dietitian for developing menus and health & wellbeing messages in staff and visitor restaurants within healthcare.
  • Provide ongoing technical dietetic/nutrition support to catering, operational teams, and clients.
  • Visit sites to meet with operational and client teams, including client dietitians where appropriate.
  • Support new contract start-ups and mobilisation.
Training
  • Deliver nutrition/dietetic training and produce appropriate training materials for colleagues in relevant food service roles.
  • Undertake site visits to review food services and support sites in making identified changes.
Protocol Development
  • Develop special dietary operational policies and special diet menus and protocols as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mealtime initiatives such as Protected Mealtimes.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition or relevant degree with Diploma in Dietetics
  • HCPC Registered Dietitian
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association
Experience
  • Preferably experience as a dietitian in a healthcare environment (although not essential)
  • Experience in a foodservice/catering environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Menu planning and menu analysis skills
  • Teaching and presentation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in computer-generated nutritional analysis
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
