General Manager (Catering and cleaning) 2 small sites

Job Introduction

This unit client is a leading provider of Joinery products, Howdens Joinery Group.

This role involves being responsible for 2 small sites. Both units cater for breakfast and lunch, hospitality and cleaning services. The main site is in Raunds and is a larger site serving around 100 Howdens staff supported by a small brigade.

The second site is in Northampton (20 miles from Raunds) and is a small operation with a basic breakfast and lunch service for around 15-20 Howdens staff. This site also supplies ad hoc hospitality for the client. Normal practice is to visit this site once per week.

We have 3 cleaners across both sites. 1 works a day shift and the other 2 work 5-11pm, so it is normal practice to visit part of this shift once per month.

As the General Manager you will lead and manage a motivated, trained team with the appropriate skills to deliver a profitable unit and ensure all budget targets and KPI’s are not just achieved but exceeded. Ambitious and commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence the day to day business, you'll maximise the performance of your team. Leading by example and setting high standards, you'll enhance sales and provide our customers with great service.

Who you are:

  • Previous General Management experience
  • Ideally from a catering background
  • Retail and commercial skills are a must
  • Financial awareness to complete weekly business returns and full accountability for P&L
  • Motivated to deliver consistent high standards of food and service quality
  • Friendly and approachable, with the management skills to develop and manage a team
  • A 'can-do' attitude
  • Computer literate
