Job Introduction

Are you ready to lead and drive excellence in healthcare operations? We're seeking a dedicated General Manager to ensure seamless operations within our healthcare facilities on a full-time basis. This pivotal role demands leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

You will be required to develop and lead the operational teams within the cluster assigned, to manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to. The services include but are not limited to patient and retail catering; cleaning, portering, security, pest control, linen and helpdesk. The UCLH contract is across the Trust’s non PFI estate which consists of 4 ‘inpatient’ hospitals and a further 30 outpatient/staff facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead operational teams within the assigned cluster.
  • Manage client relationships commercially, ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies.
  • Oversee various services including patient and retail catering, cleaning, portering, security, pest control, linen, and helpdesk.
  • Ensure service delivery meets or exceeds contract specifications.
  • Drive elements of the business plan to achieve performance targets.
  • Deliver annual business, financial, and people plans.
  • Maintain effective client and user relationships.
  • Uphold Health and Safety standards.
Who You Are:
  • Experienced in leading and inspiring operational teams.
  • Proven track record in managing major contracts with a turnover of £7m+.
  • Operational experience in managing at least one functional area within a multi-service operation.
  • Familiarity with NHS environments.
  • Financially competent with P&L management experience.
  • Competent in managing Penalty Mechanism Systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Track record of success in managing contracts with a combined turnover of £10m+.
  • Ideally, 5+ years of operational experience in most functional areas.
