General Manager – Workplace Dining & Hospitality - Up to £65,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the onsite dining and hospitality operations at a prestigious new corporate workplace, serving a community of approximately 1,500 colleagues.

As General Manager, you will take ownership of the operation from launch, establishing exceptional service standards, building a strong team culture and delivering an outstanding experience for colleagues and corporate guests alike.

What you'll be doing:

  • Take full accountability for the day-to-day running of all onsite dining and hospitality services, ensuring a safe, efficient and consistently high-quality operation.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the full front-of-house and back-of-house teams, creating a positive, inclusive culture focused on engagement, accountability and service excellence.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring expectations are understood and consistently exceeded.
  • Manage budgets, labour costs, financial targets and commercial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and maximise value.
  • Set and maintain high standards across food quality, presentation, customer service, hospitality and the overall colleague experience.
  • Play a leading role in the successful mobilisation and launch of the operation, ensuring teams, processes and service delivery are fully prepared.

  • Review operational performance, identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and implement initiatives that enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

You'll be doing as General Manager:

  • Proven experience managing a complex catering or hospitality operation, ideally within a contract catering environment.
  • Essential experience working within a corporate workplace setting.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing large, diverse teams across front and back of house.
  • A track record of delivering financial targets, managing budgets and driving commercial performance.
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • A thorough understanding of food safety, health and safety, and operational compliance.
  • Experience supporting or leading a mobilisation, new opening or significant operational transition.
  • The ability to balance high-volume food service with polished, professional corporate hospitality.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to lead from the front and drive continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a new workplace dining and hospitality operation from the outset. You will have the opportunity to shape the service proposition, build and develop your team, establish a strong operational culture and make a tangible impact on the daily experience of a large corporate community.
