The Head of Bars will oversee and manage the day-to-day challenges across all bar and wet-led offerings within the iconic National Theatre, working closely with the key stakeholders and influencers in the business to succeed in a comprehensive set of key deliverables. The main objective to this role is to fully release the potential of all things liquid in a grand and inspiring vision, whilst ensuring a smooth operation which hits its financial targets and runs both efficiently and compliantly. The role requires a proven bars leader who can build a great team, put efficient and effective service flows into place and make commercially astute decisions, balanced while ensuring all aspects of a quality customer experience.

 

About National Theatre Food & Drink

 

NT Food & Drink is a unique partnership between the NT, Levy UK&I and KERB Events.  Together we are creating a world class food-and-drink destination embedded within the heart of the NT’s operations, ensuring all public facing venues, as well as internal hospitality and commercial events, support the NT’s overall vision, values, and culture. The venue is made-up of three iconic theatres, housed in a brutalist architectural masterpiece, prominently poised on the banks of the River Thames, on the South Bank.

The Role

Reporting to the F&B Director of NT Food & Drink and through close liaison with our venue partners.

 

  • Meet and exceed key financial KPIS such as budget, LY and Forecast through revenue driving
  • Development and delivery of all drink product, innovation, and menus across multiple offerings
  • Achieve ambitious guest satisfaction metrics through prompt, efficient, swift consistent service
  • Process and controls around stock, cost of sales, margins, and variable spend where relevant
  • Work hard to achieve set company sustainability goals and ambitions across all operations
  • Lead, train, develop and mentor a core team of energised, capable and confident individuals
  • Time-keep effectively across all Client and core team obligations ensuring productivity
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and problem solving against a challenging flow of trade
  • Confidently bring suggestions that are modern, engaging, thoughtful and commercially minded
  • Ensure that there is full compliance to the company profit protection procedures & licensing
