Catering partner, Levy UK are are looking for a superstar Head of Operations to join the brilliant hospitality team at Villa Park!
Overall Purpose of the Job
As Head of Operations, you will support the General Manager in managing the overall planning and delivery of all catering operations at Villa Park for internal and external guests across Hospitality, Retail and C&E. You will take the lead in Hospitality on Aston Villa home fixtures with support of the Bars Manager and oversee the Retail department with the support of the Retail Manager. Take direction from the General Manager to implement the highest service and presentation standards and continuously evolve the operation to become market leaders across stadia. To always have Levy UK’s reputation for food quality and service at the top of your priorities. Continual compliance with Health, Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
To build, lead and manage a skilled operations team defining clear succession and development plans for all.
To define service standards for all fixed and casual team members to adhere to for all aspects of the catering operation.
To ensure all team members are adequately trained to fulfil all duties to the best of their ability.
Facilitate training sessions for all team members to develop their skills to enhance service operation and maximise their potential.
Organisation/Logistics
Lead by example and take charge of all daily catering operations in line with agreed and implemented IPOE standards.
Develop and introduce high presentation standards for all service styles.
Manage maintenance and storage of all catering appliances and kit.
Manage the security of all assets around the venue e.g. stock, tech, appliances, kit.
Work with culinary team to develop menus inline with the Levy food philosophy for both matchday and C&E operations.
Training of allergen management for all front of house team members.
Effective communication with client to plan and coordinate all catering requirements.
Management of responsible alcohol service and support Bars Manager in the training of such for all team members.
Finance
To assist General Manager in the management of all costs associated to the catering operation to maintain/improve profitability of all activity.
Key Skills and Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate concisely, assertively, and effectively at all levels of the business.
• Excellent personnel management skills.
• Ability to prioritise between conflicting demands and capability to work well under pressure.
• High standards and quality driven.
• Self-motivated with ability to adapt to a changing environment.
• Team work ethic with ability to work independently where required to deliver first class service.
• Passion for delivering quality food and customer service.
• Ability to act with the strictest confidence, maintaining professionalism and discretion around all AVFC players and staff.
