Housekeeping Manager
We have a great opportunity for a Housekeeping Manager to work onsite at one of our prestigious Private Healthcare Contracts in London.
The Housekeeping Manager is in place to enhance the customer experience and reputation of Medirest by effectively managing the cleaning team, equipment, resources and third-party suppliers ensuring the housekeeping operation is in accordance with the client service level agreement and company standards & procedures.
More about the role:
- To promote a safety culture and ensure the cleaning team are aware of and operate in accordance with company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times
- To provide support, advice and oversee the housekeeping service for all sites within the contract and keep up to date as the subject matter expert with government guidelines and through any Medirest healthcare updates
- To ensure the delivery and quality of the housekeeping operation is in accordance with the client service level agreement and company procedures
- To ensure the Compass policies, procedures and controlled documents are up to date and implemented correctly in all areas including HSE, infection control & housekeeping service procedures
- To ensure the housekeeping management team are engaged and managing their service effectively to achieve their performance targets and quality of cleaning standards.
- To ensure the teams are trained to the right skill level are in place to achieve the required housekeeping service
- To cost effectively manage and control business arrangements with external suppliers and/or other agencies in order to achieve best value for money and to foster and develop good relations
- To liaise with the client as appropriate seeking opportunities to improve the cleaning offer and enhance the reputation of the Medirest housekeeping service
- To manage the cleaning labour, equipment & resources budget for the contract in line with company targets
- To manage any third-party suppliers or contractors as required ensuring they meet or exceed the agreed service level agreements e.g. linen, pest control
- To ensure the cleaning operation continually improves in all areas of the operation – quality, cost, delivery & safety
Who you are:
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including COSHH
- Good numerical and written skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent people management skills
- A minimum of 5 years experience managing a cleaning operation in a healthcare environment
- IT literate
- Able to work flexibly in line with business requirements including attending off site meetings
