Junior Assistant Catering Manager

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Junior Assistant Catering Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Compass Group Ireland on a full time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daytime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Catering Manager in leading the catering team and ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Assist in coordinating food service and hospitality functions in line with service level agreements.
  • Help onboard and train new team members, promoting a positive and customer-focused culture.
  • Act as a point of contact for client queries and contribute to positive client relationships.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and promotions to support engagement and sales.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards across the service area.
  • Monitor supplies, support stock control, and assist with basic financial tracking as needed.
  • Contribute to sustainability efforts, such as reducing food waste and supporting Net Zero goals.
  • Help oversee food presentation and hospitality standards under the guidance of the Catering Manager.

About You:

  • Some supervisory or team-leading experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations (training can be provided).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as hospitality, retail, or facilities support.
  • Interest in progressing into a more senior catering management role over time.
  • This role does not involve hands-on cooking; the emphasis is on service delivery and team coordination.
