ESS, a division of Compass Group, is a global market leader in providing catering and support services to various sectors, including military and defence. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced FM and Catering Area Manager to join our dynamic team based in Thetford, overseeing operations across four key sites.
As the FM and Catering Area Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of facilities and catering services, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing daily operations at multiple sites, including Bodney, West Toff's,  Wretham and Beckingham in Lincolnshire (Twice monthly visits)
  • Leading a team of five direct reports, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Managing client relationships and proactively addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Utilizing IT skills for efficient reporting and communication.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to maintain a keen eye for detail and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:
  • Proven experience in a similar managerial role, preferably within the military or defense sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead from the front.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to be clear and concise.
  • IT literacy, including proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both the team and clients.
