As a member of the Nutrition team, you will be responsible for supporting Glanmore Foods with the delivery of nutrition education to children across Ireland.
The Nutritionist will engage with key stakeholders and will translate complex nutrition information into simple messages relating to food and health. Key responsibilities will include:
(i)    Delivering the food and nutrition education programme to all year groups in schools throughout Ireland with interactive workshops to children and cooking demonstrations
(ii)   Supporting the food offer with knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition including allergens and the Healthy Ireland Nutrition Standards for School Meals 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Support the Nutrition team in all relevant business activity.
  • Attending schools on a regular basis
  • Develop and deliver nutrition and health & wellness workshops in schools 
  • Contribute to the development of nutrition education resources. 
  • Ensuring all nutrition information communicated is accurate and appropriate for the clients. 
  • Communicating nutrition information through social media, the website and posters 
  • Be social media savvy and share activity widely and regularly in a professional way.
  • Work alongside Area Managers and Marketing teams to increase engagement. 
  • Provide expert knowledge of legislation around food, nutrition and allergens
  • Review menus and provide feedback on the nutritional content of the offer, ensuring compliance of the menus to the Nutrition Standards for School Meals and ensures it caters for children with different dietary needs
  • Regular use of nutritional analysis software for recipe analysis 
  • Create and maintain case studies that evidence the benefits of the nutrition programme and resources within the school. 
  • Maintain sound knowledge of nutritional requirements for all age groups 
  • Deliver nutrition training to catering teams where required
  • Audit kitchen and service points to ensure nutrition and allergen compliance. 
  • Support the delivery and implementation of the sustainability strategy at Glanmore Foods alongside key stakeholders at the schools. 
  • Support other areas of the business as required 
About You: 
  • Graduate of an AfN accredited nutrition degree 
  • Passionate about nutrition and its impact on health and wellness
  • Work experience in the foodservice and nutrition industry would be desirable. 
  • Confident in delivering nutrition and food education to different clients. 
  • Experience evaluating the nutritional content of food using nutritional analysis software 
  • Knowledge of allergen legislation and the Nutrition Standards for School Meals
  • A passion for keeping up to date with research. 
  • An interest in sustainability and environment would be desired 
  • Confident in communicating to large groups of people and controlling challenging meetings/conversations
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups
  • Ability to manage a busy diary independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent organisational skills
  • Professional, efficient, excellent attention to detail and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to engage with children of all ages and make food fun and interesting for them
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Must hold a driving licence and have access to a car
  • Must be willing to travel (including national travel and overnight stays)
