Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit a talented candidate to join our Energy Sector in the role of Operations Manager to support our offshore operations.

As one of our Operations Managers you will lead and develop a team of managers within Energy to provide exceptional service at some of our prestigious sites. 

ESS is the Defence, Government, and Energy services sector of Compass Group UK & Ireland. We support 250+ UK military establishments, high profile police, secure environments and government sites, along with a range of onshore and offshore facilities including platforms, drilling rigs, floatels and offices for the energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading a passionate team of unit managers, to provide exceptional service to our clients. Managing the client and contractual relationships ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to while maximising commercial performance

Review business performance and ensure delivery of key financial targets in line with management and performance reporting. Demonstrate commercial value to your direct reports, line manager and leadership teams, in line with our vision, values and business strategy.

More about the role:

Key Responsibilities 

  • Building effective relationships with customers, stakeholders and colleagues to ensure that operations run effectively
  • Deliver the profit for the region through leading the Unit Managers in delivery of their financial targets
  • Supporting client reporting requirements by producing accurate and comprehensive documentation
  • Review unit and contract performance, identify improvements and ensure contract compliance to exceed client expectations
  • Identify the differing customer requirements through analysing trends in their feedback and select the appropriate company offering to deliver customer satisfaction
  • Communicate strategy to team and ensure that improvements are implemented to maximise performance and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and implement the strategy of growth and retention of new and existing business in each sector through leading the development of long-term account plans, including a rolling lifecycle review process
  • Support the sales team to develop financially sound bids and proposals and sign off final agreements to ensure we deliver operationally sound contracts

Who you are:

Our Ideal Operations Manager will:

  • Have management experience in Catering and Support Services preferably in the Offshore and/or Remote sectors
  • Management experience leading and inspiring operational teams to deliver results
  • Experience in implementing change programmes to deliver operational benefits
  • Experience of working within brand guidelines to deliver results
  • Experience in highly commercial and price sensitive markets
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to resolve problems and present appropriate solutions and recommendations
  • Fully conversant with current Health and Safety and Food Safety management
  • Experience on application of risk management, analysis and reduction
  • Offshore survival certification
