We're looking for a proactive Payroll Assistant to support the dynamic team at Peppermint Bars and Events. As part of the Staffing team you will play a key role in supporting with a diverse range of admin tasks including payroll, expenses, and invoices, office coordination, and helping to ensure the Peppermint team's employee/HR records are all up-to-date.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the leading bars and events team behind exceptional experiences at some of the UK’s most high-profile festivals, events, and venues (including BST Hyde Park, Camp Bestival, Mighty Hoopla, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, All Points East, Lytham, and Rewind Festivals!)
This is a flexible hybrid role working 2 days from home and 3 days from the Kennington, London office.
Payroll Assistant - The role
- Supporting this bars and events business with essential payroll, finance, and HR tasks
- Managing daily staffing timesheets, checking for accuracy, and chasing any missing records.
- Providing events crew team members with accounts and expenses support
- Review and approve expense submissions in line with allowance guidelines.
- Verifying invoice details and uploading them to the accounting system.
- Supporting the Payroll Admin Manager with preparing and confirming all required documentation for accurate payments.
- Effectively managing expenses and receipts for pre-paid company cards for approval.
- Processing invoices related to company card expenses submitted by the staffing team.
- Advising and supporting events staff with queries on expenses, payments, and deductions.
- Coordinating event reconciliation by monitoring invoice submissions and communicating deadlines to agencies and contractors.
- Supporting the wider team with HR admin tasks and office coordination.
What we're looking for:
- A great working knowledge of Microsoft packages specially Excel
- A love of learning processes and new systems
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Well-organised with good attention to detail
- An open and adaptable mindsight - happy to respond effectively to regular changes
- An ability to follow instructions and take initiative
- Comfortable working in an office-based environment with a primarily desk-based role
