About the role
We're currently recruiting a Porter to join Healthcare on a part time basis, contracted to 15 hours per week, working variable shifts at weekends.
You'll play a vital part in keeping the hospital moving, caring for patients as you go and making sure people, equipment and samples get where they need to be.
What you'll do
- Assisting patients with mobility and transporting them safely around the hospital, including transporting the deceased to the mortuary
- Moving equipment, supplies, blood samples, specimens, medication and medical records around the hospital
- Following strict infection control procedures to keep patients and staff safe
- Disposing of waste correctly, in line with waste management procedures
- Responding promptly in emergency situations to support hospital staff
- Helping patients, visitors and hospital staff in a friendly, helpful way

About you
Our ideal Porter will:
- Be physically fit and able to lift and push equipment
- Be compassionate and caring, with strong communication skills
- Be confident working in a hospital, aware that at times you'll meet patients who are very unwell or distressed
- Take pride in a clean and safe environment
- Hold a full UK driving licence, which is desirable but not essential
- Understand that this position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs met by the employer
