Key Result Areas

 

  1. Carry out cleaning duties as per cleaning schedule for any assigned area
  2. Issue stock and consumables to areas and departments as per weekly schedule and when required.
  3. Assist in the security of stock at all times and to ensure that an effective system of recording stock movements is maintained
  4. Sort, document, transport and deliver all patients, goods, records etc. to wards and departments when required.
  5. Deliver patient food to wards and departments to agreed frequencies when required.
  6. Carry out curtain changes on wards and departments to agreed frequencies when required.
  7. Replenish disposable items (i.e. hand towels, toilet rolls etc.)
  8. Collect up crockery, cutlery and water jugs and glasses, (if required)
  9. Regeneration and service of the food/drinks with nursing assistant on the wards, in line with Food Hygiene Regulations (if required)
  10. Clean all work areas/equipment during and after use and remove all waste to the appropriate area
  11. Observe the codes of practice for Food Hygiene and safety within the ward kitchens
  12. Ensure that customer complaints are promptly dealt with, and action taken to prevent reoccurrence
  13. Use machinery as shown and taught, ensuring that the equipment is used safely and in accordance with current regulations and company policies.  To maintain the equipment in a clean, safe and tidy environment
  14. Report all maintenance issues and hazards to your supervisor /  line manager
  15. Ensure you correctly bag and tag all your rubbish and leave for collection, in line with the hospitals waste policy
  16. Ensure all food is stored, handled and packed in accordance with Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations
  17. Maintain records of temperatures and remedial action taken where necessary
  18. Comply with all Health and Safety legislation which is laid out in the company’s Health & Safety Manual (COSHH procedures in the selection, use and recovery of cleaning chemicals, wearing PPE and manual handling etc) PPE= Personal Protective Equipment, (this includes goggles, rubber gloves, aprons etc.)
  19. Observe and maintain the right for patient privacy and confidentiality
  20. Ensure hygiene levels are maintained in accordance with current legislation and provide a safe environment for customers and staff
  21. Comply with the current dress and personal hygiene regulations
  22. Attend and comply with any training
  23. Develop good lines of communication and relationships at all levels within your team and with other colleagues and customers
  24. Take reasonable and practical measures to ensure the safety and security of patients within immediate working environments
  25. Carry out the duties/tasks on specific schedules, once full training has been given. 
  26. Perform any reasonable and practical instructions as requested by a Supervisor or manager appropriate to the needs of the service.

A new and exciting role has arisen at Chase farm Hospital. We currently have 6 Rapid response positions to be filled 

2 x 35 hours - 07.00am/15.00pm

2 x 35 hours - 15.00pm/23.00pm

1 x 28 hours - 07.00am/15.00pm

1 x 28 hours - 15.00pm/23.00pm 

 

The wage for this role is £7.38 - £7.83
