We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales & Marketing Manager to join the team at Aviva Stadium, one of Ireland’s most iconic venues. This role is responsible for driving new business opportunities and maximising non-match day venue sales, positioning the stadium as a leading destination for meetings, conferences, and events.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new business across target markets while growing existing key accounts in line with the venue’s sales and marketing strategy. This role also includes leading and mentoring the existing sales team and ensuring strong commercial performance across the department.
The Role
As Sales & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for proactively generating new meeting and event business while managing the overall sales and marketing activity for the venue. Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure the stadium continues to attract high-quality corporate, conference, and private events year-round.
You will bring a strong understanding of the hospitality, events, and MICE sectors, combined with the ability to manage relationships, deliver revenue growth, and lead a successful sales function.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Sales & Events Department at Aviva Stadium
Set and manage monthly KPIs and sales targets for the team
Oversee and manage all marketing activities and associated budgets
Identify and target new market segments to drive venue revenue
Research leads and drive the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing
Develop and grow relationships with existing and potential clients
Implement effective sales strategies and business development plans
Represent the venue at networking events, trade shows, and client events
Manage sales reporting, revenue tracking, and departmental budgets
Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure successful event delivery
Maintain strong communication with all departments across the venue
About You
You will be a proactive and highly motivated sales professional with a strong hospitality background and a passion for events. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing both strategy and day-to-day sales activity while supporting the development of your team.
Experience & Skills
Extensive experience within the hospitality industry (venue, hotel, or agency environment)
Experience in a management role
Strong knowledge of the MICE and business tourism industry
Proven track record of developing new business and driving revenue growth
Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of market trends
Highly organised with excellent planning and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience using Delphi is desirable but not essential
Degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related discipline is advantageous
Full clean driving licence
Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally when required
