We are excited to be launching Milton Keynes’ newest destination for dining, work and leisure in the Summer 2023.

This sustainably designed venue is not only a workplace that aims to enhance wellbeing and collaboration but also an innovative hub for the Community.  Designed and built over eight floors, each space has been developed with a purpose and will be home to renowned chefs, local eateries, social enterprises, business ventures, wellness amenities and outstanding conference and event facilities.

Our conference and event space is complete with a 300 capacity tiered seating auditorium, a podcase room, green room, and associated event spaces to support dynamic conferences, awards ceremonies and industry talks.  High speed internet and state of the art technology means you can engage your audience to get actively involved. 

We are seeking a Senior Audio Visual Technician to support this unique selling point to our clients and customers.

  • Liaise with clients regularly on event day, advise where necessary, using initiative to deal with any technical difficulties, providing replacements/alternatives if necessary to ensure the highest level of customer care is always adhered to
  • To be polite, professional, and friendly at all times with customers, clients and colleagues
  • To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • To maximise all sales opportunities through selling techniques
  • To adhere to cash handling procedures, where applicable
  • To acquire a good knowledge of all products in order to be able to advise individual customers on their product choice.
  • To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained onto your line manager.
  • Handle and respond to any customer complaints and approach your line manager for support
  • Ensure all promotions are necessary with Sales Team or on own, advising on equipment and upselling at every opportunity.
  • Provide quotes for AV equipment to clients ensuring agreed uplift in margins are included.
  • Liaise with the General Manager on the maintenance, service and hire of all AV/technical equipment.
  • With the General Manager devise a maintenance plan and carry out accordingly, within own training and capabilities.
  • Liaise with contractors, maintain, renew equipment contracts according to requirements and budget.
  • Negotiating with suppliers for best prices and ordering products as necessary

Who you are:

  • 2 -3 years’ experience in a similar role in a similar environment
  • Demonstrative knowledge of audio, visual and lighting equipment
  • Event day technical support to clients
  • Demonstrative knowledge of equipment capability, recognising when to bring in a third partner to support.
  • Developing commercial relationship with third party
  • Possess upselling techniques to clients.
  • Beginning of day / End of day equipment maintenance and checks.
  • Strong influencing and people development skills
  • Tactical and strategic planning plus delivery skills and experiences
  • A self-starter. 
  • Able to build partnership relationships quickly with colleagues and clients
  • Able to drive change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and commercial approach
  • Good understanding of live event production
  • Diploma or Degree in Audio-Visual Technology or related discipline
  • Deep technical understanding of digital and analogue audio and video signal processing standards and protocols
  • Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously.
  • IP, digital and analogue telecommunication knowledge
  • Live video production experience in, Floor Management, Director, Cameraman, Sound & Light engineer
  • Minimum 2-3 year industry experience in fields relating to live event production and AV Tech
  • High command of written and spoken English
  • Experience at supporting events to a high standard.
  • Physically fit for lifting, climbing ladders, etc
  • interested in keeping up to date with technology.
