£50,000 - £65,000 per annum dependent on experience

We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly experienced Technical Bid Writer to join our ESS team managing the creation of winning proposals and presentations. As Senior Bid Writer you will be responsible for the project management of the entire bid lifecycle, supporting the development of win strategies and persuasive delivery structures. Creating bid guidelines and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and mentoring/coaching junior Bid Writers.

As a Senior Technical Bid Writer you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Ownership of and response to high level, complex, public sector bid questions
- Participation in and contribution to sales and retention strategy meeting
- Working closely with SMEs throughout the business and supporting the Bid Manager to create and deliver successful bid plans
- Support and challenge SMEs where required to ensure responses are appropriate and compliant
- Author first draft executive summaries, case studies and CVs that are high impact, relevant and adhere to brand standards
- Develop new content for the knowledge library
Who you are:
The successful Senior Technical Bid Writer will be ambitious, people orientated, inquisitive and passionate with the ability to build relationships quickly and effectively at all levels of the business. They will have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, and lead SMEs and operators to both support the successful delivery of the bid programme.
Essential:
- 5 years + writing/editing experience
- High value public sector experience
- Expert writing skills and attention to detail
- Proven track record in working on and winning complex, high value bids and persuasive bid writing to create compelling sales documents
- Experienced in tender management methodology
- Ability to manage complex, multiservice scenarios and to think clearly under pressure
- Willingness to travel when required
Highly desirable:
- Experience working on high value bids £50m+
- Professional bid management training i.e. Shipley/Bid Perfect methodology
- English/journalism degree, or A Level English to Grade A
- Advanced Word and Microsoft systems skills
