About the Role

The Senior Warehouse Operative is responsible for ensuring all deliveries to site are quality-checked prior to unloading, stored correctly, and fully documented in a timely manner. The role ensures that deliveries match accompanying paperwork, that materials are used in date order as per picking sheets, and that full traceability is maintained at all times. The role requires strict adherence to health & safety, hygiene, quality, and food safety standards.

Working Hours

40 hours per week

Monday to Friday: 07:30–16:00

Flexibility and occasional overtime may be required to meet operational demands

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Stock Control

Quality-check all incoming deliveries prior to unloading

Verify deliveries against delivery notes and report discrepancies

Ensure correct storage of raw materials and finished goods

Maintain full traceability of materials and products

Ensure effective stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO)

Pick and use materials accurately according to planning pick lists

Conduct stock checks and counts, reporting discrepancies, wastage, or loss

Maintain accurate inventory and material usage records

Production & Operational Support

Support the achievement of daily production and packing targets

Carry out finished goods and storage checks in line with procedures

Quality, Food Safety & Compliance

Maintain 100% compliance with GMP, quality, and food safety standards

Complete all documentation accurately and within required timescales

Promptly report any quality or hygiene issues to relevant departments

Enforce compliance with company procedures and standards

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas and equipment

Use correct cleaning chemicals and appropriate PPE at all times

Record and dispose of waste correctly and in line with procedures

Follow all company Health & Safety and HR policies

Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Communication & Teamwork

Communicate key issues to the Warehouse Manager and relevant departments

Work collaboratively across departments to support operational requirements

Be flexible and adaptable to assist in other factory areas within skill set and physical capability

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Support achievement of company targets, including customer service, waste reduction, and efficiency

Key Competencies

Essential

Strong communication skills at all levels

Good numeracy and literacy skills

IT literate

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Strong organisational and time management skills

Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach

Team player with a positive "can-do" attitude

Desirable

Knowledge of food hygiene and quality standards

Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, or raw material handling
