Sous / Pastry Chef – £16.77 per hour | Uxbridge | Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week

About the Role
As Sous / Pastry Chef, you will be a key member of the kitchen leadership team, supporting the Head Chef in overall kitchen operations while taking full ownership of the pastry and dessert section. You will develop and lead a dedicated patisserie counter that will become a standout feature of the restaurant and hospitality experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a refined, seasonal pastry and dessert menu for plated service and the patisserie counter

  • Lead the setup and mobilisation of the pastry section, including equipment, layout, and supplier sourcing

  • Ensure the highest standards of taste, texture, and presentation in all pastry items

  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service delivery

  • Lead pastry production for restaurant service, hospitality events, and bespoke client experiences

  • Maintain consistency and quality across all pastry and dessert offerings

  • Mentor and train junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff

  • Foster a culture of creativity, precision, and pride in craftsmanship

  • Bring theatre and creativity to the patisserie counter with visually stunning and interactive elements

  • Stay ahead of trends in modern patisserie, incorporating new techniques and ingredients

  • Engage with guests and clients to showcase the pastry offering and enhance the dining experience

  • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and internal policies

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Pastry Chef in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or premium contract catering

  • Expertise in modern pastry techniques, plated desserts, and patisserie production

  • Experience in new site openings or kitchen mobilisation is highly desirable

  • Strong leadership, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
