Looking for Catering work?
We are currently seeking experienced Catering assistants to work in a busy, fast paced hospital environment.
The successful applicant will be totally flexible in regards to their working week with the rota being issued one week in advance. This is a seven day operation between the hours of 7am and 9:45pm. All applicants must be fully flexible.
At Resource Network we want to give you the opportunity to work at the Fawkham Manor Hospital in Longfield, Kent.
You will be responsible for carrying out the assigned tasks involved in providing a quality meal service for the benefit of the patient. You will cook, deliver and serve breakfast, lunch, supper and beverages. You will collect in and wash dirty dishes and clean down following each service. You will be required to communicate effectively with the patients ensuring they receive suitable meal choices.
You will be required to liaise with ward staff to gather the correct diet information and ensure that the patients receive the correct meal for their needs. You will be working on a wide variety of wards throughout the hospital and at times you may come into contact with patients that are particularly unwell or distressed and so must be prepared.
After the meal or beverage services have been conducted, you will be expected to collect in all the dishes, wash in a dishwasher and return clean to the ward pantry.
The contract is monitored and therefore audits to assess standards of cleanliness and hygiene will take place. You will be responsible for carrying out all the cleaning duties at both ward level and in the central kitchen to ensure the highest standards are achieved.

The post holder must be friendly and a helpful member of the team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
All candidates must possess excellent customer service skills with attentive customer care. Previous catering or customer service experience would be an advantage.
You are expected to have good command of the English language and awareness of both food & personal hygiene standards.
