Job Introduction

The core function of this role is to lead a team in delivering the race-day and non-race-day experiences for the Jockey Club customers. Haydock Park racecourse are an integral part of the Jockey Club portfolio of sites.

Haydock Park is in a setting of woodland and tree-lined avenues and must be one of the most used racecourses in the country with racing on 32 days a year, combining both the very best of Flat and Jump Racing.

Owned and operated by The Jockey Club, Haydock Park has become the scene of some of the most popular and attended events in the Northern racing calendar, including the Grand National Trial in February, The Temple Stakes in May, the Old Newton Cup and Lancashire Oaks in July, the Sprint Cup in September and the Betfair Chase in November.

With a choice of four grandstands and 33 private viewing suites, restaurants, bars and leading conference facilities, Haydock Park is as well-known for world-class racing as it is for hosting spectacular events, attracting visitors in their thousands each year.

Jockey Club Catering was formed in 2009 to provide outstanding catering, hospitality and customer service at all of The Jockey Club’s racecourses nationwide and has a portfolio of 15 racecourses delivering catering to over 333 race days a year.

Jockey Club Catering delivers exceptional race day experiences through great people; and amazing customer service and providing ‘Legendary Experiences’ to all our customers at our event days.

More about the role:

You will be responsible for delivering ‘a cut above’ guest experiences through directing the operational team to ensure consistency of world class product delivery (both food quality and service standards), across all segments and user groups and aligned to Jockey Club Core Values.

Coordination of product planning and delivery, from menu development to all aspects of food and drinks service, mindful of all HSE/Food Standards compliance obligations at all times is a key part of your role.

You will need a keen eye for detail to project manage the catering facility evolution, working closely on the development strategy and any capital improvements plans.

Who you are:

You will be passionate about food and hospitality, with a natural flare for guest focus and quality of experience at all levels. 

You will demonstrate a passion and hunger for ensuring an exceptional hospitality experience, be able to inspire the entire and varied team to work as one to delight in delivering the best possible food and experiences. Leading from the front with ability to critically review new project layouts and ideas, as well as proposing own ideas to develop sizing and set ups as well as the food quality and service.
