The Cocktail Bar combines all elements of the Residence into one space. Theatrical cocktails, show stopping service, and a team of people that take the customers on journey.
The Head Bartender role is the centre piece to the Jigsaw. You will need to be exceptional. Not only from a skills and knowledge perspective, but teamwork, commitment, confidence, and enthusiasm are some of the key traits you will need. The ability to take our guests on a journey through explaining the story behind the cocktails will be key. Along with service flair. Role Profile
Main responsibilities include:
- Leading the bar staff team, ensure all guests receive their beverage requests efficiently and accurately, communicating with colleagues to ensure smooth delivery. This may include written orders, or the use of electronic till and ordering systems (EPOS systems/PDQ’s).
- Greet your guests when they arrive to the bar and engage in polite, friendly conversation.
- Able to communicate effectively with all our customers, clients and colleagues. Listen and respond appropriately.
- Managing a small team to ensure excellent teamwork delivery and promote a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Supervising the bar staff and assist with new team members by giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
- Training of bartenders on cocktails and be part of creating new cocktail menus alongside the bar manager.
- Maintenance of the general presentation of the bar in accordance with planograms, product placements, par stock levels under the guidance of your bar manager.
- Taking orders and requests efficiently and accurately.
- Preparing and serving drinks with correct glassware & accompaniments for the beverage items being offered.
- Manual handling of kegs/ casks/barrels, cases, and gas cylinders.
- Being able to make knowledgeable recommendations, proactively assisting guests with queries and upsell items to guests.
- Knowledge in pairing wine with menu dishes if requested by a guest.
- Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area, ready for the next service.
- Ensuring all glassware and tools are polished & impeccably clean before use and ensuring all service areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Allergens, profit protection, licensing laws, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH.
- Follow responsible alcohol service policies.
