HOSPITALITY MANAGER | SHERBORNE SCHOOL | £38,000

5 days out of 7 | 52 weeks per year

We are now recruiting for an experienced Hospitality Manager to join the team at Sherborne School, a prestigious independent school in Dorset.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional to lead the delivery of high-quality hospitality and events across the school. You will be responsible for ensuring consistently excellent service, managing a front-of-house team and working closely with the school and wider catering operation.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Leading, motivating and developing the hospitality and front-of-house team

  • Managing the day-to-day hospitality operation and ensuring consistently high service standards

  • Planning and delivering hospitality, functions and events across the school

  • Managing staffing, rotas and service requirements to ensure smooth and efficient operations

  • Working closely with the school, clients and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver an exceptional service

  • Ensuring all hospitality services meet company, client, Food Safety, Health & Safety and licensing requirements

  • Maintaining high standards of presentation, service and professionalism

  • Managing stock, resources and operational costs effectively

  • Identifying opportunities to improve the hospitality offer and customer experience

  • Supporting the wider catering team during busy periods and major school events

  • Taking a hands-on approach and leading by example during services and events


WHO YOU ARE

  • An experienced Hospitality Manager with a proven background in hospitality, events or contract catering

  • Confident leading and developing a front-of-house team

  • Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and high standards

  • Experienced managing busy hospitality services, functions and events

  • Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commercially aware with an understanding of costs, budgets and resource management

  • Calm and professional when working under pressure

  • Customer-focused with strong attention to detail

  • Flexible and able to work 5 days out of 7, including evenings and weekends when required

  • Comfortable working within a prestigious independent school environment

  • A hands-on leader who is happy to be involved in service delivery
