Job Introduction
Reporting to the General Manager you will play an essential part in our guest’s journey, It is your role to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where our guests can enjoy the Freight Island experience.
More about the role:
- Giving guests a warm welcome and fond farewell as they enter and leave the venue – that first and last impression is everything!
- Manipulating the bookings prior to service and throughout to maximise reservations/covers
- Being an expert on our reservation system - able to manage the book throughout a back to back day and drive sales through acquisition of covers
- Ensure the reservation system is set for the week ahead and taking bookings where appropriate
- Manage all bookings, contacting them where relevant
- Responding to all emails promptly and professionally and within 24 hours of receiving a request
- Having full knowledge of the site including floor plans, directions, opening times, menus, events and contact information for the unit site, directors and traders
- Assisting guests in making a reservation
- Handling all guest questions and requests effectively
- Handling all management and staff questions and requests effectively
- Organising table plans in line with the reservations due in
- Familiarising yourself with any special requests each day
- Showing guests through to their tables. Once seated, explaining the full steps of service to guests, explaining the app, how to order, where the bathrooms are and answering any questions they may have
- Familiarise yourself with any special requests on bookings on a daily basis, making sure any voucher/discount
- Ensuring all appropriate cleaning duties are carried out
- We work in a fast-paced environment, and we have to cover a lot of ground. It is expected that you work with a sense of urgency and take pride in the levels of service that you are giving both to our customers and to our vendors

- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
