At Milton Hill House, we are a stylish hotel, conference, event and wedding venue committed to delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. Nestled in Abingdon near Oxford and surrounded by 22 acres of tranquil parkland our hotel boasts stunning views making us a preferred choice for accommodation, conferences, weddings, corporate events, and more. 
With over 20 meeting rooms and 114 bedrooms, Restaurant and Bar, we also have a fantastic onsite leisure club. 

We are part of “The Venues Collection”, a grouping of five easily accessible venues specialising in events. 

Overall Purpose of the Role:
As our Junior Sous Chef you will work with the Head Chef and key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, compliant and profitable department in accordance with all Statutory Requirements, Company Policies and Health and Safety Procedures.

More about the role:
  • Partake in food ordering and stock rotation
  • Minimize and monitor waste wherever possible
  • Assisting with management on financial budget and targets
  • Manage and develop team members to progress within the kitchen hierarchy
  • Assist with implementation and inspire the team with current food trends and cooking techniques
  • Follow company standards and deliver to high degree of success

Who you are:
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to engage and motivate others
  • Willingness to lead by example and inspire the kitchen team with guidance from the Head Chef
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in professional cookery or equivalent
  • Intermediate food hygiene certification
