Venue:
The Kia Oval is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, South London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845. It was the first ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880. The final Test match of the English summer is traditionally played there.
The Kia Oval is a very busy venue Surrey men’s and women’s teams play a huge amount of cricket there alongside the likes Oval Invincibles and England Cricket.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery: Ensure smooth planning and delivery of first-class service to internal and external customers within the venue.
- Administrative Support: Organize the day-to-day running of the Chef’s office, complete administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Kitchen Operations: Assist chefs with stock-taking, maintaining procurement systems, and building recipe cards for costing and photo specs.
- Order & Invoice Management: Receive and log daily orders, manage goods receipt files, and handle daily invoices to ensure accurate financial records.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain compliance with H&S standards, support training, and collaborate with the HSE champion to uphold safety protocols.
- Quality Standards: Maintain food hygiene standards, professional appearance, and polite communication while supporting the team as needed.
- Event Support: Assist with event documentation, including allergen information and Event Information Packs, ensuring deadlines are met.
Person Specification:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- A passion for food and quality of service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and confident in MS Excel; Word and Outlook.
- Great team player
- Ability to work to strict pressured deadlines
- Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
- A “can-do” attitude
Desirable:
- Venue knowledge
- Events experience
- At least 6 months similar experience gained in a dynamic environment
