Linen Porter/Driver

Job Introduction

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Linen Porter/ Driver required to undertake specific tasks in key areas of the Linen Service while developing a flexible approach in assisting with other delegated duties when required to do so in the interest of the service and attend relevant induction/training modules and/or courses in relation to the post on a full time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • To undertake the checking of clean stock received from the outside contractor.

  •  To undertake the packing of customer stock requirement for distribution.

  •  To undertake the checking of customer stock requirement at ward level.

  •  Replenishing stocks at ward level, receiving deliveries of stock from outside contractor and collection of dirty linen by contractor.

  •  Delivery and collection of clean and dirty linen from wards and departments and collection of dirty linen by outside contractor.

  •  To ensure a seven-day linen porter service is available.

  •  To undertake other duties within Hotel Services if and when required.

  •  Receipt of new linen and stamping of linen.

  •  To take part in quarterly linen stock checks.

  •  To ensure all duties are carried out in line with Health and Safety requirements and compliance with Trust policies and procedures.

  •  To adopt good customer relations.

  • To operate the electric tug-machine and ensure electric tug-machines are maintained and cleaned to required standards. To report any vehicle defects without delay.

  •  To ensure the linen services department is kept secure at all times.
