Senior Sales Executive Plaisterers Hall

Job Introduction

Plaisterers’ Hall is seeking an experienced, relationship‑driven Senior Sales Executive to champion our sales strategy and help position our venue as the premier destination for corporate, social, and private events in the City of London. This role requires a proactive, commercially minded individual with a genuine passion for customer engagement, exceptional service, and building meaningful partnerships.

You will be responsible for driving revenue, identifying new business opportunities, nurturing key accounts, and ensuring that every client receives the seamless, high‑touch service that Plaisterers’ Hall is renowned for. Success in this role requires confidence in negotiation, strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to deliver an impeccable client experience from enquiry through to event delivery.

 Location: Plaisterers Hall, One London Wall, 1 London Wall, Barbican, London EC2Y 5JU

Rate of Pay: 35,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Predominantly Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, occasional weekend work depending on events (time given back in lieu)

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Build and nurture strong client relationships to drive repeat business and long‑term venue partnerships.
  • Identify new business opportunities through networking, proactive outreach, referrals, and industry engagement.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, pricing opportunities, and areas for strategic growth.
  • Proactively qualify, convert, and close new enquiries in line with venue revenue targets.
  • Create tailored proposals, contracts, and correspondence that reflect the venue’s premium standards.
  • Ownership of the main inbox and distributing enquiries
  • Supporting the wider team on site with absences

Client Experience & Account Management

  • Deliver exceptional service to new and existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the sales journey.
  • Partner closely with the Event Planning and Operations teams to ensure every event exceeds expectations.
  • Conduct site visits, host client entertainment, attend showcases, trade shows, and FAM trips to elevate venue visibility.
  • Oversee account management for key clients, ensuring continuity, loyalty, and repeat bookings.

Sales Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, and reporting to support forecasting and strategic planning (weekly wrap up).
  • Ensure all sales administration, processes, and SOPs are consistently upheld.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Use Company of Cooks resources, insights, and training tools to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the overall sales function.
  • Uphold Company of Cooks policies and procedures.

Strategic Contribution

  • Understand market dynamics including demand patterns, competitor capabilities, and economic trends to strengthen sales positioning.
  • Apply strong negotiation skills to secure business that aligns with venue objectives and profitability.
  • Evaluate business opportunities and close high‑value deals suited to the venue’s premium offering.
  • Support catering‑led conversion opportunities in partnership with the in‑house culinary team.

Financial & Legal Understanding

  • Understanding of P&L, revenue management principles, and contractual obligations.

About You

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Strong negotiation and consultative sales capability.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Confident communicator with outstanding customer service standards.
  • Passionate about events, hospitality, and creating exceptional experiences in a heritage venue setting.
