Technical Services Manager

Luton | Up to £55,000 per annum

We are looking for a knowledgeable and hands‑on Technical Services Manager to oversee the delivery of technical and operational services on a Total Facilities Management (TFM) contract based in Luton.

This role is key to ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly and to a consistently high standard. While the focus will be on technical and operational excellence, this is still a highly visible role requiring strong people management skills and confidence when working with clients and stakeholders.

The Role

As Technical Services Manager, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day operational performance of the contract, providing technical oversight across hard services while supporting teams to deliver excellent outcomes for the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational leadership to on‑site teams and specialist subcontractors
  • Ensure all services are delivered in line with contractual KPIs, SLAs and statutory requirements
  • Act as a key operational point of contact for the client, supporting site meetings and escalations
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety compliance across all service lines
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance activity, ensuring minimal disruption to the client
  • Support financial control through monitoring cost performance and efficiency opportunities
  • Contribute to performance reporting and service reviews
  • Identify and implement service improvements, standardisation and innovation across the contract
  • Support catering and service teams where required, bringing a collaborative, one‑team approach

About You

  • Several years of technical management experience within FM
  • Strong people manager who enjoys leading, developing and supporting teams
  • Confident and professional communicator, comfortable operating in a client‑facing environment
  • Good understanding of health & safety, compliance and technical standards
  • Organised, proactive and solutions‑focused in approach
  • Relevant technical qualifications essential
