Assistant General Manager – Dreamland 

Due to rapid business growth and increased Operational demands, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an AGM (Assistant General Manager) to join a busy and dynamic venue.
Peppermint provides high-performance bar and event solutions to the world’s best entertainment businesses and consumer brands. Our core business is operating festival & event bars, brand activation and conjoined retail-led F&B solutions to the UK’s best festivals and outdoor events such as British Summer Time, Camp Bestival, All Points East and many more.
The recent partnership with Levy (Compass UK) has led our established business into new sectors within sports and stadium arena across the UK and Ireland at world class venues such as the 02 Arena, Wembley Arena, Aviva Stadium and Wimbledon.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized and driven individual to take service quality accountability at Dreamland, working collaboratively with General Manager to deliver excellent standards in all aspects of service. This role will also entail back of house elements such as profit/loss understanding, GP% management, budget control and rota management.
Dreamland is the pride of Margate and quickly becoming the coolest music venue in the county. The Scenic Stage plays host to an exciting array of artists, covering all genres. Acts confirmed so far include Elbow, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, Rudimental and many more still to be announced.

Start date March until September on a fixed term contract.
Salary of £40k pro rata. 20 working days per month.
The ideal candidate should be able to easily commute to and from Margate, in Kent.

Core Accountabilities

SERVICE
  • Ensure high standards of service are developed and maintained throughout the venue.
  • Liaising with the General Manager to ensure standards are met at all times.
  • Ensuring that floor and bar service areas are consistently prepped for service days.
  • Been fully present on the floor during service
  • Have the confidence to make service decisions
  • Ability to run multiple departments
  • Extensive knowledge of bar & restaurant operations
BACK OF HOUSE
  • Profit & loss analysis
  • Stock analysis
  • Sense check for stock and consumables ordering
  • Rota management
  • Maintaining supplier relationships
PEOPLE AND STAFFING
  • Ensure staffing levels are at the correct levels and to budget at all times, and people are recruited into the right roles
  • Committed to delivering the Venue’s socio-economic plans of hiring within the local area and nurturing talent to create careers for local people
