We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Profit Protection Manager to provide specialised expertise in all areas of risk and profit protection by standardising unit operating procedures and ensuring compliance to company policy and procedures. This is a regional position covering the North of England and Scotland.

You will drive and deliver the Profit Protection strategy within your region and aligned sector whilst changing the behaviours and culture of the operational teams. Through training & coaching and influencing Sector MD’s, Head of Operations, Regional Managers and Unit Managers you will help to reduce risk by driving a continuous improvement in unit compliance. You will act on data analysis exceptions and conduct investigations where dishonesty and procedural breaches are identified and recommend appropriate physical security solutions where risks are identified and manage the installation process.

More about the role:

  • A key focus of this position will be partnering with senior stakeholders and engaging with the sector leadership team.
  • Ensure that all legislative and One Compass operational procedures and standards are applied to provide a consistent and safe service and product for all Compass employees and customers.
  • Coach and train colleagues to modify behaviours and change culture.
  • To plan and carry out a programme of Compliance Reviews in line with the Profit Protection strategy.
  • To manage the compliance and coaching element contained within the Profit Protection strategy at unit and regional level including the delivery of Shrink School.
  • To coach the unit teams and / or individuals to manage the internal systems and procedures effectively.
  • To identify risks not contained within the compliance review and to devise and agree a process that will mitigate the risk.
  • To review and analyse exception reporting to identify dishonesty and any breach of procedure.
  • To investigate and follow up exceptions identified on the weekly and period reports.
  • To work with the investigations team to carry out investigations into internal and external dishonesty and breaches of procedure relating to loss of profit.
  • Responsible for advising Unit and Regional Management of the appropriate security equipment in order to mitigate losses.
  • Responsible for reviewing CCTV where installed to ensure data compliance requirements are met and that the system is used effectively.
  • To liaise with third parties suppliers and external bodies to ensure units managers are kept up to date with best practice.

Who you are:

  • Detailed and proven knowledge with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within retail.
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders with the ability to influence and challenge at different levels from unit colleagues to senior managers.
  • Skilled investigator with experience of interviewing using the PEACE model and employment law.
  • Excellent training and coaching abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of key shrinkage indicators
  • Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically.
  • Knowledge of CCTV and security systems available to mitigate loss.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate information.
  • Experienced in carrying out detailed and complex investigations including investigative interviewing.
  • Sound knowledge of criminal law, employment law and disciplinary process.
